- Competed at the highest level of professional tennis for 14 years, reaching a career high ATP singles ranking of 27, and 34 in doubles. Participated in 12 French Open, Wimbledon, US Opens, and 10 Australian Opens
- Beat top players such as Goran Ivanisevic, Michael Chang, Michael Stich, Petr Korda, Boris Becker, Carlos Costa, Brad Gilbert, David Wheaton, Thomas Enqvist, Richard Krajicek, Marcelo Rios, and Yevgeny Kafelnikov amongst others. Notable doubles victories over the Bryan Brothers, the” Woodies”, and the Jensen Brothers
- Represented South Africa in the 1996 Olympic Games
- Nominated and represented South Africa in the Davis Cup competition from 1995 to 2001
- Raised money for the Nelson Mandela Children’s fund through the Nelson Mandela Tennis Challenge held in 1997 in Cape Town
