Moureaux Appointed GPTCA President for Belgium

The Global Professional Tennis Coach Association (GPTCA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Xavier Moureaux as the new GPTCA National President for Belgium.

Xavier has been a valued GPTCA Level A member for many years and brings extensive experience in professional tennis, player development and coach education to his new role.

Currently, Xavier coaches Greet Minnen, who has reached WTA No. 54. From 2023 to 2024, he worked with former ATP No. 18 Benoit Paire. His professional coaching experience also includes working with Mirza Basic (ATP No. 74), Aldin Setkic (ATP No. 165), Vincent Millot (ATP No. 135) and Belgian Davis Cup player Steve Darcis (ATP No. 38).

Since 2018, Xavier has also been the co-founder and director, together with Steve Darcis, of the Darcis-Moureaux Tennis Academies in Bastogne, Aywaille and Ans. The academies bring together approximately 800 players and 15 coaches.

Coach education has been another important part of Xavier's career. He has extensive experience as a lecturer, educational expert and mentor within the French-speaking Belgian Tennis Federation (AFT), contributing to different levels of coach development and continuing education. He has also served as an AFT national and regional squad coach.

Earlier in his career, Xavier worked with the Luxembourg Tennis Federation, accompanied players at ITF and Tennis Europe events and European Championships, and from 2010 to 2012 served as a tennis coach to the Belgian Royal Family.

His combination of professional tour experience, coach education expertise and long-term involvement in Belgian tennis makes Xavier an excellent choice to lead the next chapter of GPTCA activities in Belgium.

GPTCA Courses Returning to Belgium in 2027
Alongside Xavier's appointment, we are delighted to announce that preparations have begun for the return of GPTCA coach education courses to Belgium in 2027, following a break of several years. The ambition is to bring together an outstanding team of speakers, with Steve Darcis, Belgian Davis Cup Captain, and Simon Goffin, former WTA coach, among the experts planned for the program.

Final dates, venue and registration details will be announced soon.
